I’m a HUGE fan of the Muppets (and its true that I have Animal bedsheets! Thank you Tesco!) so yiz can imagine how excited I am that me book, Diary Of A Ryde and the new Muppets movie come out on the same day! That’s like an Oman or something!!! Here’s Miss Piggy askin for a bazillion likes on Facebook!
For those of yiz who are fans of Mortal Kombat, there’s a new movie. I clearly love it coz I like beatin people up! FINISH HIM!
From Inside Movies
New Line, in conjunction with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, is producing a new Mortal Kombat film, 14 years after their last adaptation of the popular video game franchise. Kevin Tancharoen, the man responsible for the popular web-series Mortal Kombat: Legacy (pictured), will be directing. “I’ve always been a huge fan of the games,” Tancharoen tells EW. His first Mortal Kombat project was a proof-of-concept video meant to be shown only to studios, but which was accidentally posted to YouTube by none other than himself. “I was mortified at first because I thought I was going to be in a mess of trouble with Warner Bros.” (You can check out the video below.)
However, thanks to the overwhelmingly positive response online, the studio did the opposite. In conjunction with the release of the latest iteration of the game, Warner Bros. tasked him with producing the relatively high-production-value Legacy. Then when the game hit paydirt — selling 3 million copies, far higher than expectations — they began thinking of restarting the movies, which, to be honest, aren’t remembered as one of the high points of the ’90s cinema. “I remembered the old films, which I don’t think left people hungry for more,” says Toby Emmerich, president of New Line. “But when you look at how well the game was doing and you look at what Kevin did with it just on his own, you don’t have to squint too hard to see how it might make a good movie.”
One of the problems with the earlier films was that they were PG-13. For a video game series notorious for its creative violence (and for irritating Sen. Joe Lieberman), that’s essentially the equivalent of the lame grey sweat they subbed into the SNES version. They don’t plan for that to be the case here. “Up to this point, we’ve only been talking ‘rated R,’” says Tancharoen. “I like realistic takes on things, I like it when it’s a little darker and grittier. And I want the martial arts to feel real as opposed to balletic and super-choreographed. It needs to feel brutal, because that’s the nature of the video game itself.” New Line is aiming on having the film hit theaters in 2013, and we’ll see then whether it’s a flawless victory or a fatality.

Anyone else a big Batman fan?? Coz there’s times when I go to sleep and convince meself I’m gonna be Batgirl when I wake up! Still hasn’t happened but at least twice I’ve been close! DYIN for the Dark Knight Rises so here’s a sneaky peak of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman! Give me Michelle Pfeiffer any day. Meow.
This is a Carlsberg ad from Belgium I’m guessin which is where Brussels is, or at least it was last time I was there. They make a couple go into a cinema filled with bikers with only 2 seats left. Its all very weird. Although, I remember clearly the cinema in Janelle in Finglas was often very similar.
X-Factor SPOILER!! Don’t read if you don’t want gossip!
I told ya to stop readin!
ANYWAY, this news has upset me so much I can hardly talk about it!
From Telly Mix
X Factor 2011 hopeful Goldie Cheung, has quit The X Factor, it has been revealed today. The wacky contestant was reportedly chosen as one of the live show finalists, but despite making it to the X Factor final 16, quit the show in a row with show bosses.
An X Factor spokesperson confirmed Goldie had left due to “personal reasons.”
According to the Mail On Sunday however, Goldie walked out over arguments with producers – because she was being made a joke act.
Goldie refused to speak to the press when asked about the news, saying: “I cannot speak to you. The X Factor have told me I can’t give any interviews.”
Goldie will be seen in tonight’s show performing at Wembley Arena for the judges.

I’ve just discovered that Digital Spy might be more obsessed with people robbin than I am!!! This is gas clearly!
A Colorado man has been arrested for breaking and entering as well as stealing a woman's cell phone after sending the victim a Facebook friend request.
The Greeley Tribune reports that 22-year-old Juan Gonzalez Jr broke into a woman's house at approximately 3am on Wednesday morning, making off with her cell phone as well as a laptop and several items of jewellery belonging to her roommate.
However, he was apprehended only a few hours later after Gonzalez began using the victim's cell phone to send text messages to one of her friends and even requested to connect with her on Facebook.
Police used cell tower signals to track down the suspect, who was later confirmed to be the man that the victim saw in her home that morning.
Gonzales is currently being held at the Weld County Jail on second-degree burglary and felony theft charges
Another story about robbin today which as yiz know is one of me favourite subjects. This is actually gas. Clearly the number 1 rule of stealin is never return to the scene of the crime!! AMATEURS!
From Digital Spy (AGAIN!)
A foiled robber has been jailed after he was caught returning to the scene of the crime last month.
Anthony Gorman, 21, entered a store wielding an imitation gun and wearing a balaclava, but was chased off by shopkeeper Michael Singh.
In the confrontation, Singh grabbed Gorman's balaclava and ripped off his £200 jacket, according to the Daily Mail.
Gorman returned to the shop "minutes later" and asked for his jacket back. However, Singh recognised him.
Singh said: "I just cannot believe anyone could be so stupid as to ask for his coat back after bungling a robbery. He should have just cut his losses and run.
"He even said 'please' but I said 'are you stupid?' And he ran off and I realised who he was.
"The whole incident was unbelievable."
Gorman was sentenced to four and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated burglary and possession of an imitation firearm. He claimed that he was drunk at the time.
Shock horror or some shite but looks like Charley from 2 Shoes, ya know the 2 birds from Essex, is pregnant and she hid it from the judges. I’m already lovin all the drama on this years X-Factor. I’m goin to go on it and start a riot next year for the laugh.
This is from Digital Spy.
The 23-year-old - who forms the group with friend Lucy Texeria - discovered that she was expecting a baby boy with partner Greg Phillips before taking part in the next stage of the competition.
However, The Sun claims that Bird kept her news a secret from her bandmate and producers as she was worried that it could cost 2 Shoes a place in the live finals.
"I can't wait to be a mum," she told the paper. "We're both so excited. It's made me want to do well in the competition even more, so that I can give my son a really good start in life."
On possible names for her new son, Bird quipped: "If I do well I might even call him Gary or Louis."
If 2 Shoes progress to the live shows, the singer would be almost eight months pregnant by the time the series concludes in December.
"I told Lucy more or less straight away and she's been brilliant - we've even thought about re-naming ourselves 3 Shoes," she said, while an X Factor insider added: "The judges will be even more impressed when they realise what they were hiding!"
If you’ve ever been to Hollywood (And clearly I have. Not for a movie or anythin, just on holiday.) you’ll have seen these people walkin around dressed as superhero characters and shite who wreck your head and try to get pictures taken with ya. I just told them to piss off and shouted a bit of abuse but these youngones took it a step further! This is GAS! Have a change of knickers ready!
God I’m gettin mad into this celebrity gossip lately. All I have to do is learn who Vogue Williams is and I’m flyin! Anyway, as yiz know, N-Dubz are me favourite band but now with Dappy doin well with No Regrets and Tulisa on X-Factor, it looks like time is up for them as a group. AWWWWW.
Got this over at Telly Mix.
New X Factor judge Tulisa apparently thinks that her N-Dubz bandmate Dappy has been holding her back – and is taking advice from Simon Cowell on distancing herself from the group! According to Reveal magazine, the brunette beauty wants to move away from the hip hop trio.
Dappy, Tulisa’s cousin, admitted last week that the group were going to split soon, saying: “We may release some stuff every six months but it will definitely be quieter. Then, at the end of that period, we will do a Greatest Hits or Best of N-Dubz. Then that’ll be it: finished.”
A close source to the singer revealed this week: “Tulisa always made it quite clear that she was keen to do her own thing.
“She thinks that Dappy’s bad behaviour has been holding her back. He can be a real pain, and the band’s image hasn’t been helping her on the show.”
Speaking to the magazine, the insider added: “Simon Cowell was never a fan of N-Dubz either and she’s been taking advice from him about distancing herself.”
It doesn’t sound at all healthy in the N-Dubz camp!
Anyone who’s read Charlie and The Chocolate factory will know your one Verruca Salt shouted that at her ma and da (YES I CAN READ!!!) and now I’m shoutin it although not at me ma and da coz they won’t let me have a pet after Disco2 passed into doggy heaven.
Click the link and see how cute they are. Sharon seems awfully confused by the whole thing!

Some people will remember Free Magazine which was a magazine for the gays of Ireland back a few years ago and there was people that were only ragin that it closed. I loved havin a read of it meself even though quite clearly I’m not a gay, although me brother Bopper is and me mate Paulo is bisexual and Concepta’s mate Mary Gaga is a pansexual.
Anyway, here’s a bit of a spread I was in a few years back that was done by the lovely Will St Leger.
Yiz know by now I love all stories about things gettin stolen. Me mate Tracy calls me a kleptomaniac which I’m sure is lovely even if I don’t really know what it means and I don’t steal. Often. Anyway I got this from Digital Spy and it made me laugh!
Thieves have stolen £24,000 ($37,500) worth of washing powder and liquid.
Around £16,000 ($25,000) of Bold washing-up liquid and £8,000 ($12,500) of Ariel washing powder was missing after a Bilston warehouse in the West Midlands was targeted.
The robbery took place in two raids which happened over the weekend, reports Express & Star.
A local police spokeswoman stated: "If anyone is offered any cheap detergent or sees large quantities being sold, they should think twice."
According to the London Independent, a sign in the window of a Dublin music store informs musicians testing out the keyboards "Strictly NO Adele."
Speaking about the new store rule, Warren a staff member at Opus II, said: "It's become the piano equivalent of Stairway To Heaven. Everyone thinks they can play it."
He added: "The sign was a bit of a joke, but the song can drive you mad."
The Someone Like You singer will play a second night at the Hammersmith Apollo in London tonight, before moving on to the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday.

But she gets up again! Its kinda gas. The linesman (or lineswoman?? Jesus I must ring Tracy and ask her what the right word to be usin’ is) gets knocked out by some fella runnin for the ball. She’s the same one that Andy Gray got sacked over but he’s a tool. And fair play to her, she just gets back up and gets on with it. How many of them pussy 50 grand a week footballers would ya see doin that?? NONE! PUSSIES!!
Digital Spy Have picked their tips for this years X-Factor! Do yiz agree?
The X-Factor auditions are over for another year.
But which acts have caught our eye over the past two months and which ones do we think will make the cut for the live shows?
Reality Bites picks out its eight tips for the top. If we get them all wrong and they're axed at Judges' Houses, we'll be crying into our Gamu Nhengu-initialled handkerchiefs all over again.
Audition Song: Elton John's 'Your Song' (The Ellie Goulding version)
Our Verdict: Diana Vickers + dainty Irish lilt - a claw x heartmelting coyness = Janet Devlin. The pick of the first episode's acts, and has not been thrust down viewers' throats, so looks unlikely to suffer what's known in X Factor land as Danyl Johnson-itis.
Audition Song: Lady GaGa's ' Edge of Glory '
Our Verdict: Come back Katie Waissel, all is forgiven. Yes, we know she's fame hungry, slightly bonkers and more irritating than crabs, but we all know Kitty's in this for the long haul. She's TV and tabloid gold and if you forget her worst traits, she's not too bad a singer either.
Audition Song: Bob Dylan's 'Make You Feel My Love' (The Adele version, obviously)
Our Verdict: He was on screen for barely a minute, he was wearing a silly hat, he sang Adele. There's so many things that should make us dismiss this lad in an instant. But if you missed him first time around, hunt down his audition now. There's something special about that voice. He deserves to make the live shows.
Audition Song: Aretha Franklin's 'Respect'.
Our Verdict: Attitude. Killer vocals. Rap skills that Cher Lloyd would sell her best hoodie for. And best of all she's doing it for her old auntie. Who isn't rooting for Misha?
Audition Song: Adele's 'Someone Like You'
Our Verdict: Anyone who pulls off an audition in an Adidas trackie top that looks like it's about 10 years old, gets an instant thumbs up. The fact that this Fife belter can knock out an Adele tune at the drop of a hat helps as well.
Audition Song: Aloe Blacc's 'I Need A Dollar'
Our Verdict: The curse of The X Factor Groups... will it ever end? There's bound to be more judge-manufactured disastrous girlbands, but out of the auditions one set of boys looked like they may just have the potential to break with tradition and go all the way. As long as they're not morphed into Westlife-lite, The Keys could go far.
Audition Song: Stevie Wonder's 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered'
Our Verdict: Olly Murs, watch and learn. This is how you do a cheeky Stevie Wonder cover. Impressive stuff.
Audition Song: K-Ci & JoJo's 'All My Life'
Our Verdict: When X Factor met TOWIE? Yes, vocally 2 Shoes may not cut the mustard, but we don't want power ballad after power ballad come the live shows. This duo could bring some cheekiness and colour to Saturday nights.
Me in South Africa! Would ya believe it?? Well thanks to a fella I know that works in Air France (and ya know what I mean by “fella I know”) and Yenta and her weird aunt Jemima who makes nice kebabs, we found ourselves in AFRICA! I thought I’d be like Eddie Murphy in Coming To America (The African part) but in the end I wasn’t. Safari my arse! Durban is nice.

Well they’ve had more members than I have (think about it - rawr) and ALLEGEDLY (I have to write that in case I get sued I’ve been told by me mate Sinead who’s doin law, posh bitch) Jade Ewan is the latest Babe to leave. Their new single hasn’t even come out yet although its only alright. Not like their old classics! Bring back Keisha and Mutya I say!! Here’s Jade with a great tune that she sung in the Eurovision with Andrew Lloyd Webber. He’s an unfortunate lookin chap god bless him.
I was a big fan of the girls back in the day and for some reason today me and me good friend Diva got talkin about them. They had a few songs out and were big in Japan but then vanished which is a shame coz they were deadly. Where are the girls now anyone know?

This is from Digital Spy. Would you do Louis? We should do a poll!
Louis Walsh has claimed that he is "very good" in bed.
The X-Factor judge was asked by Heat what type of lover he is.
Walsh said: "Good, I think. I would say I'm very good and very understanding and warm."
Asked to describe himself naked, he added: "Overweight, funny, cuddly and not hairy..."
Rating his attractiveness on a scale of one to ten, Walsh said: "About a five. I wouldn't fancy me, but I think I'm honest and fun."
Quizzed on faking orgasms, the 59-year-old laughed: "I believe it happens. I've heard it happens! I love it!"
Walsh last month rejected suggestions that he has recently undergone a cosmetic procedure for a smoother brow.
Ya know what they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Waterford probably was. Me and me aunty Linda thought it’d be a great idea to go to Italy together. It wasn’t. If that woman ever asks me to go anywhere with me again you’ve to remind me of the row in the Coliseum. How she thought anyone would think she looked under 25 just so she could get 2 quid off I’ll never know. Gobshite!

I’ve always been a big fan of Dermot and Dave on 98fm so was delighted to hear they were readin the blog and had a little chat about Rebecca Black’s mate Benni Cinkle. Ya can listen to it at the link below.
We used to have one of these years ago like most kids did at the time. It was a time before Sega and Nintendo and Playstations weren’t even invented. Ya used to have to put a cassette in and load up the games and they’d take ages, except one game which was on a cartridge and had this classic on it – Fiendish Freddies Big Top O’ Fun. Jesus I wasted hours of me life on this shite. By the way, I was very very young playin this in case yiz are wonderin about me age, cheeky bastards!
Well I’ll tell yiz!! The songs for the first episode that’s gonna be on this week are -
It’s Not Unusual
We Got The Beat
Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead
Anything Goes/Anything You Can Do
You Can’t Stop The Beat
SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited about seein this! Woo!
I came across this a few days ago readin the news on RTE.ie (they do a good X-Factor update) and thought it was a bit mad. The gobshite driver of the bus tried to make it across the level crossin before the train on the left came and didn’t realise the one on the right was comin too endin up in this disaster. And we thought people on bikes crashin into the Luas was bad!

Ya know the girl in the video in Rebecca Black’s video, the one to her right in the song where she says her mates to the right and she’s in the car and she doesn’t know which seat to take??? Well that girl now has a song. Her name is Benni Cinkle and she hasn’t a patch on my girl Rebecca. Benni V Rebecca – who wins?

It’s always interestin to see where people are readin the blog from and I used to do a run down back in the day of the cities which I could do on this thing called Google Analytics but it means I’d have to add up people readin through JoannaRyde.com and that’s just effort. So Blogger have this thing too but that doesn’t add the people readin through Tumblr so it’s all very confusin!
So here’s the one from Blogger
Which is nice!!
That’s in Lanzarote in case ya didn’t know. Meself and me ma had a lovely holiday relaxin in the sun and buyin aloe vera coz Betty Ennis said it’s great. I got sunstroke on the last day though so I’ve a fear of Lanzarote ever since. Puerto Del Carmen is nice though!
Here’s the link - http://www.joannaryde.com/travel/puertodelcarmen.html
If you’re a regular reader of the blog you’d know that I’m a HUGE N-Dubz fan and Tulisa is next to bein a goddess as far as I’m concerned. Well Dappy is the first one to bring out a solo song and its only DEADLY! What does everyone think?

I saw this yesterday on RTE.ie! Its very strange. By the way, if anyone wants to buy them I can put ya in contact
Iarnród Éireann says that seven level-crossing gates were stolen in the early hours of Sunday last between Ballymote in Co Sligo and Boyle in Co Roscommon.
Two gates were stolen at Cloonloo and five at Culfadda, according to a company spokeswoman.
She said Iarnród Éireann moved fast to secure the train lines for the safety of livestock and the public.
Cabling had been stolen in the past but level-crossing gates, which can be up to 14-foot high, had never been taken before, the spokeswoman said.
Gardaí in Ballymote and Boyle are investigating.
