Worst X-Factor auditions

This is brilliant. Everyone loves the random crap auditions at X-Factor and these are the best of them.

Today’s song is Steppin’ Out by Joe Jackson

"Steppin' Out" is a song by Joe Jackson that most people would know from Grand Theft Auto Vice City. I used to kick someone out of their car and then start tunin through the stations to find this one coz it’s so good. I failed many a mission over it. I wish I still had me PS2!

Strangest X-Factor Rap

The strangest X-Factor rap ever! This chap is hilarious. Why would he sell his truck to do that? Does anyone know him? LOL.

Today’s song is Summertime by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince

"Summertime" is a song by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. The Fresh Prince is better known as Will Smith this day who’s now tryin to relive his musical career through his kids. If I have to listen one more of his brats attemptin to rap I’ll go mental.

Weirdest American Idol contestant ever

I love how random American Idol is! This poor woman isn’t all there! I know loads of people like her!

Today’s song is Barbie Girl by Aqua

"Barbie Girl" was the first song by Aqua who came out of NOWHERE in the late 90s to be global stars and then kinda vanished the same way. They returned about 3 or 4 years ago and have been doin stuff in Denmark which isn’t really much use to me. I’d love to see them live actually. I wonder could we get them for Waterford Pride.

My new video - Good Time

Check it out! My new parody video is of Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen – Good Time! It’s a tribute to the customers in Dignity, where it was filmed. Check it out and share it around!

Kid on bungee ball

I really don’t know what’s funnier about this, the fact the kid is fallin out of it or the fact your woman can’t stop laughin!

Today’s song is Hard Rock Hallelujah by Lordi

"Hard Rock Hallelujah" by Lordi was the first and only Finnish song to win the Eurovision Song Contest. I don’t think anyone was expectin a bunch of heavier metallers in plastic masks to go and win the Eurovision but it happened. It’s actually a great tune.

Old Woman walking her dog

This is brilliant! I’d say this poor woman has whiplash!

Today’s song is All That She Wants by Ace Of Base

"All That She Wants" is a song by Ace Of Base from their album Happy Nation that went on to be the biggest sellin debut album of all time. Fair play to them. Ace Of Base haven’t been around for ages although I miss them terribly. I think they should enter the Eurovision.

Joe Duffy lyrics

This is another Jim Jim Nugent one! It’s his take on Joe Duffy on the Strawberry Alarm Clock. Pissin meself laughin.

Today’s song is Don’t Say You Love Me by M2M

"Don't Say You Love Me" is a song by M2M from some form of album that I never heard of. They basically had this song and that was it. I think they might have been Norwegian. This is from the Pokémon film too I think although I never saw it so that could be just something I made up. Its an okay song actually.

3 Dublin women talk about dogs

This is gas. Jim Jim Nugent from Dublin’s FM104 chats to 3 Dublin women about dogs. I wish I knew Ann! LOL

Today’s song is It’s Oh So Quiet by Bjork

"It's Oh, So Quiet" is a song I barely remember from when it was out! I remember it was a bit mad to be honest. It’s a good fun song though and probably Bjork’s biggest ever hit. I don’t actually know anything else she did. I know she punched a reporter once. That’d must have been gas.

Pixar Intro Parody

This is fun. The team at College Humor created this parody of the Pixar Intro sequence!

Today’s song is Downtown by Petula Clark

"Downtown" is a song by Petula Clark who I believe has sold more records than any other British female artist! There’s something ya wouldn’t have known. It’s a catchy little 60s song and one of me favourites from back then, not that I was there but ya know what I mean. Petula is still bangin around these days I believe. I think I saw her on something there a while ago. Correct me if I’m wrong!

Thursday, August 23, 2012

Stoned on Judge Judy

This is hilarious! This chap went on Judge Judy stoned! Why would ya go on telly in that state? She’s clearly not impressed at all!

Today’s song is Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen

"Bohemian Rhapsody" is probably one of the best songs ever written. Actually I think I saw a programme where it was voted the best song ever. It’s one of those tunes that makes ya go “Ah I love this song” whenever ya hear it, unless of course ya don’t love it. I do. The Muppets did a great version of it.

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

Muppet Bohemian Rhapsody

This is one of me favourite YouTube videos of all time and was a big part of the Muppets comeback in the last few years. The video had 7 million hits within a week makin’ it one of the fastest videos ever to hit that number and because of it’s online popularity, it was released on iTunes where it hit #32 in the British charts!

Today’s song is Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond

"Sweet Caroline" has been murdered at karaoke by more people than I care to remember. Poor Neil Diamond must be ragin. Me da loves him although the only songs I know he does are this and the Blue Jeans one. He’s still goin and did a concert in the Aviva in Dublin last year with X-Factor’s Mary Byrne.

Mock World Cup Draw

This is actually HILARIOUS! I don’t know what’s funnier, how serious he takes it or the fact he’s usin his little sister to help. The drum is gas too. I have a feelin that Brazil 2014 are only dyin to sign him up!

Today’s song is Summer Of 69 by Bryan Adams

"Summer of '69" has nothin to do with the sexual position or at least that’s what Canadian hunk Bryan Adams would like us to think. Actually he’s not a hunk anymore. He was on the X-Factor last year and looked a bit awkward. This song annoys me coz drunken girls the world over fall around the dancefloor to it. I was never one of them.

The Askinator

This is fun! You think of a famous person or character, answer the questions and The Askinator guesses it! Lots of fun! Try it - http://uk.akinator.com/

Kung Fu Baby

This is the cutest thing ever! It’s a baby doin Kung Fu!!!

Today’s song is Are You Gonna Go My Way by Lenny Kravitz

"Are You Gonna Go My Way" is the a song by Lenny Kravitz. He’s one of those chaps who only appears now and again with a song but he’s had some classics. The one he did for Austin Powers was brilliant. His daughter was in X-Men First Class, fair play to her.

Alternative Miss Cork 2010 (part 2)

Back in 2010 I was a judge for Alternative Miss Cork alongside comedienne Maeve Higgins. Daisy Dripps won and it was lots of fun.

Today’s song is Rhythm Is A Dancer by Snap

"Rhythm Is a Dancer" is a CHOON from the 90s that I’m sure ya know well. I’ve danced around many a dancefloor to this with a bottle of Blue WKD or Smirnoff Ice in me hand over the years. It’s a great song that’s still goin strong to this day! I wonder whatever happened to Snap!

Nimbo Cumulus

Yesterday I posted a bit of the Fast Show’s Chanel 9 Neus and I HAD to post this one! It’s the day the weather girl Poula played by Caroline Ahern finds a cloud in the weather report!

Today’s song is Break My Stride by Unique II

Someone once told me that Break My Stride was the most played song on the radio in the world and I wonder if that’s actually true. Actually I’m at a computer and could check right now but that would require effort so could someone find out and tell me! Unique II are Austrian which makes them the only Austrian pop act I know!

Hits Von Trudi

The Fast Show was a popular TV show on BBC and Chanel 9 Neus was always me favourite bit! Check out Hits Von Trudi around the 2:40 mark! LOL

Today’s song is Walk This Way by Aerosmith and Run DMC

"Walk This Way" is a song that brought together the legend of Aerosmith and Run DMC in one of the first rap/rock crossovers ever. It was a big hit back in the 80s or early 90s or whenever it was out. It’s still played now and again in various clubs around. I tend to leave for a smoke coz fellas think they’re MC Hammer when it comes on.

Fat people doing Rock The Boat in Carlow

That’s actually what this video is called! LOL! The funniest part is the chap shoutin at the end! LOL

Today’s song is Goodbye by The Spice Girls

"Goodbye" is one of me favourite Spice Girls songs and we know they’ve had some classics over the years, or at least over the years that they were goin. This was like their fourth Christmas number one or somethin. It’s got a lovely little Christmas video too. Isn’t it lovely.

Tuesday, August 14, 2012

Irish Spiderboy

This is brilliant! I want a Darragh Murphy! Anyone any info on where he is now?

Today’s song is Baby Got Back by Sir Mix-a-Lot

"Baby Got Back" is a great little song about girls with big bums, not that I have one. It’s the only song I’ve ever heard of by Sir Mix-A-Lot so guessin he wasn’t that big apart from this. Great video and really good fun. I’m goin to go twist me baseball cap backwards to dance around my livin room.

Blathnaid Ni Chofigh – Nice Package

I LOVE Blathnaid! She was a judge on the All Ireland Talent Show when I was on it and she was so nice to us. This happened durin her presentin days on The Afternoon Show and ya can see she’s findin it hard to keep a straight face! LOVE HER!

Today’s song is Eye Of The Tiger by Survivor

"Eye of the Tiger" is a song from Rocky or one of those movies. Actually it was Rocky. What a fun tune. It makes me want to put on me bathrobe and run up the stairs. I’d be great at boxin!

Where In The World

Is this the most amazin’ TV show EVER? Where In The World was a favourite on RTE on Sunday nights for many years hosted by the lovely Theresa Lowe who went on to become a lawyer. It’s my dream to see this show revived!

Today’s song is Keep On Loving You by REO Speedwagon

"Keep On Loving You" is a great tune. It’s one of me favourite love tunes ever and it makes me feel warm inside about the eighties. I want this song played at me weddin. That and some form of Nicki Minaj medley. It’s so nice. REO Speedwagon had some classic tunes, most of them I’ve only start lovin since I saw Rock Of Ages.

Supermarket Sweep

When I was young I used to love stayin off school coz I could watch gems like this! Supermarket Sweep was a big hit in the 1990s. It was a game show where contestants ran around a supermarket lookin for stuff. Kinda like modern day Aldi. Hosted by Dale Winton so it was obviously fantastic PLUS they made this amazin song! GO WILD IN THE AISLES!

Today’s song is U Can’t Touch This by MC Hammer

"U Can't Touch This" is MC Hammer's 1990 smash that changed the world of rap music forever. MC paved the way for such amazin white rappers as Eminem and that chap from Linkin Park. The song was a huge hit and I vaguely remember seein it on MTV or though in sayin that, it could easily have been VH1 Classic coz I’m probably not that old.

Out For The Weekend

Heyiz!! This is the line up for OFTW AKA Kilkenny Pride! Gonna be amazin so make sure you catch it!

OUT For The Weekend, Kilkenny’s Gay Pride festival is returning from 24th - 26th August this year. Now in its third year thanks to funding from The Community Foundation of Ireland and The Councils of the City & County of Kilkenny, the festival is offering up a more diverse line up of performance, art, theatre, music and symposiums to cater to everyone of all ages, genders and persuasions.

This years festival will be mostly focused on the Parliament Street area of Kilkenny City and kicks off on Friday 24th August with the opening of the Irish Queer Archives. A major coup for the festival, The Irish Queer Archives contains the most comprehensive collection of material in Ireland relating to homosexuality and general queer studies, providing fascinating insights into the social, cultural and political history of the LGBT communities in an Irish and international context during the latter half of the 20th century. It will be followed up by a night of performance, pop, dance and burlesque with cabaret crooner Captain Anchor accompanied by DJ Alex on the decks. Entry for this kick off party is free!

In another coup for the festival, Devious Theatre will be performing their acclaimed new show Phantasm by John Kennedy in Cleere’s Theatre for five performances from Thursday to Saturday night. The drug-addled romantic comedy opened at Solstice during Cork Midsummer Festival and this will be its debut performance in Kilkenny.

Saturday sees LGBT Diversity presenting Gay & Lesbian Health and Well-Being workshops in the Abbey Business Centre with free entry for all. One of Saturday night’s big shows sees the return of Rosie Howick perform her exhilirating Kylie, Lady Gaga & Katy Perry tribute extravaganza. DJ Razor’s 90’s Mixtape will be opening proceedings with DJ Iano wrapping things up with dancing into the wee hours.

The Sunday events include WalkabOUT Kilkenny, which begins at the Parade on Sunday morning with everyone welcome to join. The big musical hit of last years festival was the Rock OUT competition with this years Rock OUT Final taking place in the Foróige Drum Youth Centre at 4.30pm with some of the regions best young bands duking it out for a cash prize. Only the best will survive!

The weekend will be wrapping up with the dynamic twosome of the All Time DJs returning with an 80’s megamix entitled Now That’s What I Call All Time 80’s. The event takes place in Kilkenny from 24th - 26th August and all information can be found at the festival website www.OUTForTheWeekend.ie You can also hook up with OUT For The Weekend on Facebook and Twitter at @outftw.

Nightmare before St Patrick’s Day

This was clearly made by an American who believes all Irish people are drunks. Why do they have to call it Patty’s Day? IT’S PADDY’S DAY! It’s based on the Nightmare Before Christmas in case ya didn’t know.

Today’s song is Honey Honey by ABBA

"Honey, Honey" is probably one of ABBA’s lesser known songs although that might have to do with the fact that it wasn’t on the ABBA Gold CD. It was in Mamma Mia though so it’s a lot better known now. I’m delighted coz I always liked it. I’d love Flo Rida to cover it.

Phat Gay Kid shouts out to Dragiators

This is gas. Phat Gay Kid got a lot of attention on YouTube about 2 years ago  however it turned out it was all a big hoax and this chap was actin. One of the contestants in Dragiators thought it’d be hilarious to get a shoutout for him and he does around the 2:52 mark! GAS!

Today’s song is Lay All Your Love On Me by ABBA

"Lay All Your Love on Me" is probably one of me favourite ABBA songs of all time. It’s defo up there with the likes of SOS. A-Teens did a great cover of it and made it into a dance track. It’s a pity they’re not still around coz I liked A-Teens.

Wednesday, August 8, 2012

Today’s song is Does Your Mother Know by ABBA

"Does Your Mother Know" is probably the only ABBA song where the boys were allowed have the lead vocal. It’s a song about some girl who is probably not allowed out because she should be at home studyin for her leavin cert or whatever they have in Sweden. Volvos and Ikea mainly.

This used to be my old room in Charmin’s

Back when I started to come to Waterford, I stayed in Charmin’s place. I had me own room coz I was here that much and there was a Hannah Montana duvet on the bed. As a result, we called it the Hannah Montana Suite!

Today’s song is Dancing Queen by ABBA

"Dancing Queen" has to be the one song in the world that EVERYONE knows and if they don’t, shame on them, unless they’ve been held captive in a cave all their life or live in the jungle. It’s a huge hit even to this day and women over a certain age take to the dancefloors of the world relivin their youth to it. God bless ABBA!

Little Mix have branched out

The X-Factor winners have gone down a new avenue!

Little Mix

Today’s song is Mamma Mia by ABBA

"Mamma Mia" is one of the biggest songs in the world. It spurred the musical of the same name. Is spurred the right word? In the movie Meryl Streep sings it in her overalls on a roof which is a bit odd but fun all the same. This is a great song though isn’t it. I’m off to find some spandex.

Sunday, August 5, 2012

Today’s song is Sweat by Inner Circle

"Sweat (A La La La La Long)" is a song I remember writin out the lyrics for back in the days before we had the internet. Jesus how young I must have been. Surprised I was old enough to drink. I love this song actually now listenin back to it. What happened to Inner Circle? Did they have more songs?

Strange place to put a dentists chair

I was walkin home from a little walk and found this dentist’s chair! It was on Parnell Street which is one of the main streets here in Waterford!

dentist chair

Today’s song is Don’t Dream by Crowded House

"Don't Dream It's Over" is a song by Crowded House but it’s actually the Dove version I remember better. Dove were a band that had 2 songs in Ireland and they were meant to be the next big thing but never really worked out that way which is a pity coz I LOVED THEM!!!

Best name for a shop EVER

I love this! It’s a flower shop that I saw and had to stop and get a picture of although I nearly got rear-ended in the process!

Me oul flower

Today’s song is I Think We’re Alone Now by Tiffany

"I Think We're Alone Now" has been recorded by everyone at some time or other. I think Tiffany might have been Scottish or maybe I just made that up? I remember bein told that. They didn’t really have any big hits so this is the one everyone remembers them for, unless they’re actually remember Tiffany from Eastenders which is likely.

Beware–Elderly People

I took this picture in the Isle Of Man where there’s LOADS of these signs! Clearly elderly people are to be feared on the island!

Today’s song is A Good Heart by Fergal Sharkey

"A Good Heart" is a song that mammies love! Don’t ask me why. Maybe Fergal Sharkey was a pin up in the eighties! I must ask me ma. She knows all the pin ups. He looks alright in the video. This song is great though. Interestin fact - it was written by Maria McKee who sang Show Me Heaven!

A trip to the zoo

I took these pictures on a trip to the zoo a few years back! Dirty bastards!

Dirty monkey

Monkey having sex

Today’s song is Blue Monday by New Order

"Blue Monday" is a song that ya hear now and again mixed with everything. It’s one of them songs. New Order were famous for playin their synthisizers all the time and once caused murder on the set of Top Of The Pops when they refused to use a backin track! Ah Top Of The Pops. Bring it back!
